Scott K. Powers, Edward T. Howley(著), Exercise Physiology: Theory and Application to Fitness and Performance 7th edition, McGraw Hill Higher Educationを紹介します。アマゾンでは5600円程度でペーパーバックを購入できます。ただ、今年の11月に8th editionが出版されるようですので、それまで購入を待ってもよいかもしれません。

英語のリハ医学の代表的な教科書であるPhysical Medicine and RehabilitationのDelisa(第5版)とBraddom(第4版)が最近出版されたのですが、どちらも栄養の記載はほとんどありませんでした。サルコペニアの記載も1ページ弱で、欧米のリハ医学では栄養への関心が乏しいことが感じられます。
その点、この書籍は3:Bioenergetics、4:Exercise Metabolism、23:Nutrition, Body Composition, and Performance、25:Ergogenic Aidsと運動栄養学に関連する項目が4つもあります。Appendicesも運動栄養関連の項目が多いです。
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitationよりもはるかにリハ栄養の学習には有益ですので、私は当面この書籍の栄養関連の項目を読むことを頑張りたいと思っています。
